About Us

Oral conditions, primarily dental caries and periodontitis affect the majority of the population worldwide and cause significant morbidity. Health is a basic right which those in low-resource countries are deprived of due to lack of access to the means available for the prevention of health conditions and/or the reparative care of a health worker.

There exists an inequality in the global health care system, and dentistry, being part of the larger field of global health, is no different. Empowering the dental workforce would result in positive health benefits for developing communities.

This was the reason behind establishing Dental Health Partnerships. Health is knowledge-based and socially-driven and dental health educators can help create successful partnerships between different parts of the world to train health workers in resource-poor settings, to share knowledge and skills; This would leave a lasting impact within communities and enhance human well-being.

At Dental Health Partnerships, dental educators in the UK are connected with dental students and post-graduate students on a weekly basis to discuss clinical cases, using an online platform and a virtual classroom.

We are committed to fostering communication and exchange between dentists and dental students across borders to enable knowledge sharing and to create a global support system.
